Mr. Gerald Abwerzger

Gerald spent his entire life in the commodity industry, covering energy, metals and agriculture. His career began in 2005 at Statkraft as a trading analyst of the European energy and carbon market, followed by his role at E.ON, heading the global oil market analysis. Later on, Gerald joined BHP Marketing, covering base metals and energy markets. In 2016, he co-founded Von Alm with the purpose to create long-term stakeholder value through sourcing, trading and managing the delivery of agricultural commodities worldwide. Quickly after its incorporation, Von Alm conducted its first trade and since then it grew continuously. Today, it is active on 4 different continents with sourcing operations in Asia Pacific and Latin America. Gerald was born and raised in Austria and holds and MSc. in Petroleum Engineering and is co-author of commodity related books. He is based in Singapore where he lives with his wife and six-year-old daughter.
