Mr. Quek Ngee Chuan is Vice President for the Cocoa Division at Olam International Ltd, based in Singapore. Quek started his career in Ernst & Young specialising in auditing companies in the Palm Oil and Timber sector where he also was in charge of forensic accounting and transfer pricing audits. In 2003 he started his career in Cocoa joining JBCocoa at their then newly built plant, before moving to Olam as a Trader in 2007. Quek has since accumulated experience over the years trading cocoa butter, liquor, cake, powder and beans. Highlights in his career included developing Pasir Gudang, Malaysia as the main cocoa distribution hub in Asia and first to introduce Sustainable Beans to Japan. He is also instrumental in creating the demand by Asian Grinders for Ecuador CCN beans which has since become a key origin for the region. Quek also sits on Executive Committee of the Cocoa Association of Asia as Vice Chairman for the second term.
